Troubleshooting

Fix notification issues step by step.

Most common fix: Make sure your OS allows notifications for your browser. This is the #1 reason push doesn't work.

1. Check System Settings

Windows

  1. Settings → System → Notifications → make sure it's ON
  2. Find your browser in the list and ensure it's allowed
  3. Turn off Focus Assist / Do Not Disturb

macOS

  1. System Settings → Notifications → find your browser
  2. Enable Allow Notifications, set to Banners or Alerts
  3. Turn off Focus mode if active

2. Check Browser Settings

Chrome
  1. Click the lock icon in the address bar
  2. Set Notifications to Allow
  3. Or go to chrome://settings/content/notifications
  4. Make sure notificationpro.vaultsuite.store is in Allow list
Edge
  1. Click the lock icon → set Notifications to Allow
  2. Or go to edge://settings/content/notifications
Firefox
  1. Click lock icon → Connection secure → More Information
  2. Permissions tab → set Notifications to Allow
Brave (requires 2 settings)
Brave blocks push by default. You need both:
  1. Paste brave://settings/privacy in a new tab
  2. Enable "Use Google services for push messaging"
  3. Click the Shield icon in the address bar → Advanced View
  4. Turn OFF "Block scripts"
  5. Reload and try again

Still failing? Use Slack instead — no extra config needed.

Safari (macOS)
  1. Requires Safari 16+ (macOS Ventura or later)
  2. Safari → Settings (Cmd+,) → Websites → Notifications
  3. Allow notificationpro.vaultsuite.store
  4. HTTPS required. Does not work in Private Browsing.
Safari (iOS / iPadOS)

iOS 16.4+ supports web push in Safari directly.

  1. Open NotifyPro in Safari and allow notifications when prompted
  2. If not prompted: Settings → Safari → Notifications

Common Issues

Notifications stopped working

Push subscriptions expire when you clear browser data. Toggle push OFF and ON in settings to reconnect.

Wrong device getting notifications

Push is one device per user. Open settings on the device you want and re-enable push.

"Registration failed" error

Usually Brave. Follow the Brave setup above. Other browsers: clear the service worker at chrome://serviceworker-internals and retry.

Slack test works but no real notifications

Make sure you clicked Save & Close. Check that business hours aren't blocking.
